KONSEP DOA DALAM KEHENINGAN MENURUT ST. EPHREM DARI SURIAH DALAM HYMNS PRESERVED IN ARMENIAN, NO. I: MENYATU DENGAN ALLAH
Abstract
Abstract. Prayer in silence is a prayer of the mind that is continuously done without stopping to ask for God`s mercy. But in another view says that prayer is only a human request to God. But for Efpherm, it is emphasized that prayer is not just a request, but prayer in human silence can maintain the purity of the heart and unite with God in the book Hymns Preserved In Armenian, No. I . The method used in writing this article is library research, to describe how important it is to pray in silence. By praying in silence, we can become like Christ through constant repentance and asceticism. So that the power of evil is not easy to attack thoughts because there is power from God.
Abstrak. Doa dalam keheningan merupakan doa batin yang terus-menerus dilakukan tanpa henti untuk meminta belas kasih Allah. Tetapi dalam pandangan lain mengatakan bahwa doa itu hanya sebatas permohonan manusia kepada Allah. Tapi bagi Efpherm doa itu bukan hanya sebata permohonan, tetapi doa dalam keheningan manusia dapat menjaga kesucian hati dan menyatu dengan Allah dalam buku Hymns Preserved In Armenian, No. I Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah penelitian pustaka, untuk menguraikan betapa pentingnya melakukan doa dalam keheningan. Dengan ada doa dalam keheningan dapat menjadi serupa dengan Kristus melalui pertobatan dan askesis yang terus dilakukan tanpa henti. Sehingga kuasa kejahatan tidak mudah menyerang pikiran-pikiran sebab ada kekuatan yang dari Tuhan.
